Joy – A book that brings you joy:

 

Anna and the French kiss is a light, fun and airy romance.

I loved the setting and Anna herself, I felt she was very real and all her screw ups are scarily relate-able. She has a great sense of humor and her banter with St.Clair is perfect!

I had a silly smile plastered to my face reading this! A well written and fun contemporary.

Sadness –  A book that made you sad:

 

Me Before You is sad and funny. I really enjoyed this book, the characters are well written and the story is not only heart wrenching and sad, it’s funny and hopeful.

Fear – A book that truly scared you

The Pet Sematary:

A sad place maybe, but safe. Surely a safe place. Not a place to seep into your dreams, to wake you, sweating with fear and foreboding.

This is a line from the synopsis and sums up the book for me, your susposed to be safe! You are just words on a page you know?! I don’t get scared reading books but this is the only book that has truly scared me. Well done King, well done.

Disgust – A book that Disgusts you

 

Boy meets Girl, Boy Loved girl, Girl pretends to die, boy actually dies, Girl actually Dies, They live happily ever after as 14 year old ghosts  and occasionally visit Hamlet oh wait that’s not right? Ah well

Sorry for the spoilers haha (if you were seriously spoiled that’s your own fault, its been long enough people!

No but in all seriousness this book isn’t disgusting, I mean nothing by Shakespeare could ever be disgusting but it’s the only book I could think of, I mean 14 year old insta love who does that?

 

*inner voice “but Casey you started going out with your partner at 14”

*Casey “Shut up inner voice, I didn’t kill myself so your arguments invalid”

Anger – A book that makes you Angry

 

I heard so many good reviews and couldn’t wait to dive into this story! When I actually started I was just underwhelmed by the whole thing and really disliked Harper. She’s your typical “top girl” and wasn’t that much of a badass all she succeeded in doing was annoying me.

She actually says something along the lines of its easier to control and keep girls in line then boys, HELLO you shouldn’t use your popularity to control or put anyone in line!
