Monday madness is simply books that taste like coffee.

Everyone has a perk of choice some have coffee, others exercise, I usually start my Mondays with waking up early and reading for an extra hour in the morning.

Monday will be my day to share with you the books that have made me get up and go, pure page turners, or feel good books that have given me some great insight or just a happy motivated feeling once I have put them down.

Today’s book that Taste like coffee is *epic electric guitar solo*

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

19174917

Synopsis from Goodreads: Cath and Wren are identical twins, and until recently they did absolutely everything together. Now they’re off to university and Wren’s decided she doesn’t want to be one half of a pair any more – she wants to dance, meet boys, go to parties and let loose. It’s not so easy for Cath. She’s horribly shy and has always buried herself in the fan fiction she writes, where she always knows exactly what to say and can write a romance far more intense than anything she’s experienced in real life.

Now Cath has to decide whether she’s ready to open her heart to new people and new experiences, and she’s realizing that there’s more to learn about love than she ever thought possible …

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell was wonderful and full of smiles and happiness, growth and coming to age.

I loved this story. From the plot, to the characters, the family elements, the friendship, the struggles of change, and the love interest.

I read this in one sitting. I didn’t even get up to make a coffee or tea, I couldn’t physically pull myself away from Caths story and needed to know what was going to happen.

The writing and characters are beautiful. Fangirl had me grinning and laughing out loud. I put this book down and just sat there for a bit taking it in gosh so amazing!

Cath and Wren are identical twins and starting college, Wren wants to find herself with out her twin and be her own person, while Cath just wants to sit in her room, work on her fanfic and not have to make conversations with new people (I feel you Cath)

We are presented with a lot of different situations that force Cath out of her comfort zone and set off her anxiety. Overcoming some big hurdles we see her develop from a shy anxious girl into the strong girl at the end of the story.

This was my first Rainbow Rowell read and I loved it so much I new I had to read everything else she had written. I still have Landline and Attachments to read but I will get to the soon!

What have you read by Rainbow Rowell? Do you know your favorite book by her? Mine is definitely Fangirl XD

        1. They were my least favourite as well. When I re-read it I skip those parts all together. The Carry On book is completely different 😊 it’s a little like Harry Potter in the beginning but it grows into its own story ☺️
