Most Anticipated releases for the second half of 2016! I’m excited for A LOT OF BOOKS THIS YEAR I’m basically excited for all the books all the time but we’ll forget about that for now.

Lets just get into it because I can’t wait!

 

Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

18th of October – 99 days to go! 

The second book to Illuminae. I loved Illuminae so much and I love series that are set in the same world and have the same characters but new MC’s. The Graceling series was one of the first books I read that did this and I enjoyed it so much I can’t wait to see how this story unfolds.

Excitement level: I’m currently at the jumping up and down while holding Illuminae and hoping it will magically turn blue and be Gemina so I’d say I’m a 9/10 excitement level.

Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas 

8th of September – 57 days to go!

Okay, okay so I’ve read the Throne of Glass series upwards of 5 times a book and even though I re-read them at the start of the year I will be reading them once again before Empire of Storms is in my hands.

Level of excitement? *Incoherent screaming and slowly dying to get my hands on more of this amazing world 10/10 excite

*side note: You haven’t read Throne of glass? 1. WHY? 2. IT HAS ASSASSINS AND FRIENDSHIPS AND ASSKICKARY AND SARAH J MAAS BOYS AND ALL THE FEELS AND TEARS AND PLOT TWISTS AND PLEASE JUST GO READ ABOUT MY DARLING THRONE OF GLASS CHARACTERS.

*Second side note: If any, ANY, of these characters die please excuse me while I recover from the traumatic experience. I’m so scared someones going to be killed and I’m praying it doesn’t happen. Please Maas just make everyone live happily ever after in a world made of chocolate and marshmallows.

NeverNight by Jay Kristoff

11th of August – 31 days to go

So I was lucky enough to read an ARC of this baby and it is worth all the hype in the world and a lot more! This book did take me a while to get into and it’s not “technically” a YA because there are some sexy and sweary bits but it was so good and I will be reading the finished copy as soon as I can get my hands on it!

Level of Excitement: Jumping up and down and wanting to buy all the merch with quotes from this amazing book. 8/10

 

 

Heartless by Marissa Meyers

8th of November – 120 days to go

It’s an Alice and Wonderland re-telling BUT written by the beautiful Author that gave us The Lunar Chronicles and the main character is a baker and there’s monster and an unwanted arranged marriage. JUST look at that cover and tell me you don’t want it?!

On a level of excitement: I am already baking cookies and waiting for this book to arrive at my doorstep. 9/10

 

 

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

27th of September – 78 Days to go

Crooked Kingdoms is the last book in the Six of crows series. I can’t believe we’re only getting two books out of this beautiful story and the best characters I think I’ve ever read. Six of Crows is one of my all time favourites and I think I’ve read it 3 times already and I’ll be re-reading it before Crooked Kingdoms, the characters, the world, the adventures, and twists. I need more than 2 books!

Level of excitement? Traveling to a distant desert to dig around in a cave and hopefully find a genie to grant me the wish of having the book RIGHT now 10/10

Crystal Storm by Morgan Rhodes

13th of December – 155 days to go

I really enjoyed the Falling kingdoms series and each book has surpassed the last and gets better and better. After the ending of the last book I’m excited for this but I won’t be rushing to the store on release day just to get it.

Excitement level: Excited on the inside but I won’t be gushing about it or going to any lengths to procure it early. 5/10

 

Harry Potter and the cursed child

31st of July – 20 days to go

I do not care that this is in play format I can’t wait to get my hands on this baby ONLY 19 Days until this gets to us and Harry Potter fans will all come together in glorious union of binge reading and screaming (not necessarily in that order).

Level of Excitement: Will be at Dymocks 7am on July the 31st to get my hands on this AS SOON AS I CAN POSSIBLE GET IT.

 

Three Dark Crowns By Kendare Blake

20th of September – 71 days to go

This book is about 3 triplet queens that all have a different power and at the age of 16 have to battle to the death for the crown. Read more about it on Goodreads but this story sounds so different I love that it looks like its going to have a sisterly theme and some badass ladies and some evil ones. Let hope the world building and characters can live up to the hype.

Excitement levels: 4/10 I can’t wait to get my hands on this but I had to re-read the synopsis to remember why it was in my pre orders.

 

 

Suicide Squad 

August 4th – 24 days

I’m including a movie in my list because technically it was a comic and I am way to excited not to talk about it. Margo Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jarod Leto as The Joker LOOK AT HOW BEAUTIFUL AND EVIL AND AMAZING THEY LOOK! I don’t think I’ve been this excited for a movie since the last Harry Potter movie came out.

Excitement levels: regularly searching for updated info on the Movie and counting down the days until I get to watch it! Oh gosh I hope it’s good, pleaassseee be good. 10/10

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 

November 18th – 129 days

Okay I think we can all agree we’re pretty excited for this movie and if you haven’t heard about… Are you living in a  pineapple under the sea? Because that’s still not an excuse. This movie, I mean Harry Potter set in america, with magic creatures on the loose and a great cast. It’s going to be good, how could it not be good. Anything HP is amazing.

Level of excitement: Showing random people in the street the trailer and yelling incoherently that I’m in a ThunderBird.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Illustrated edition

4th of October – 85 days

Harry Potter and the philosophers secret illustrated edition is beautiful, the illustrations are so on point and exactly how I imagines the scenes and characters. I can’t wait to pour over this artwork.

Excitement level: Could pass off at someone who’s had a few to many cubs of coffee: 5/10
