The NY Times book tag

I was tagged in The NY book tag by the wonderful Sammie @bookshelvesandbiros , Thank you for the tag Sammie the questions look fantastic and I can’t wait to get into it!

What is on your night stand right now?

A lot of books actually and I have no idea what to pick up next! What do you think?

What was the last truly great book you read?Gathering-of-Shadows_UKcover-400x586

The last one? I’ll have to say A Gathering of Shadows By V.E. Schwab talk about a fantastic book! Guys go read ADSOM & AGOS the characters are just so great.

If you could meet any writer – dead or alive – who would it be? And what would you want to know?

Oscar Wilde, I’d love to have a dinner party like the ones in The Night Circus with Oscar Wilde invited along to pick on the fabric of society with me.

What books might we be surprised to find on your shelf?

The whole set of Nicholas Sparks books. I went through a binge reading of every single book a few years back.

How do you organize your personal library?

I just re organised my new bookshelf! It’s organised by size, genre, and author.

What book have you always meant to read and haven’t gotten around to yet?822993

A Song of Ice and Fire, I did start this but had to put it down because it was just a bit to dense for the mood I was in. I will read it one day! +

Disappointing, overrated, just not good: what book did you feel you are supposed to like but didn’t?

These ones:

What kind of stories are you drawn to? Any you stay clear of?

I’m drawn to Fantasy series the most 🙂 I’m not that into romance series as they can become a bit to repetitive BUT some of them are fantastic so I would stay away from them exactly but I wouldn’t out an effort in to finish them if they aren’t fantastic.

157993If you could require the president to read one book, what would it be?

I would require our prime minister to read 2 books, The Little Prince because I believe every grown up should read this book and also an LGBT book so they can understand the need to finally legalise gay marriage and offer equal rights to everyone in the world. 15717943

What do you plan to read next?

I’m starting Hopeless by Colleen Hoover! YAY Wish me luck and minimal tears please.

I CHOOSE YOU!

If you’ve done this tag sorry from re-tagging you and let me know so I can check out your post!

    1. I’ve watched the TV series so I already spoiled myself for the books but I do still want to read them. I think I might try with the Audiobooks and see how I go 🙂 Hopefully you get to it soon, and enjoy the tag! Xx

    1. I’ve read the first book and loved it! I wasn’t sure that I would since I haven’t read a Vampire book for years but it was great 🙂 I went and bought the box set right away so I think I might have to marathon the series next XD

      1. There are sooo many vampire books around!!
VA is definitely one of the better ones!
I read the series when it first came out and loved it!
I’ve just started reading the Bloodlines series which is spin off, I avoided that because I thought it would be terrible, I was wrong lol. Richelle Mead is a great writer!

Except Harry Potter, re-read that as many times as you want lol!
Also, don’t worry about spending weekends with friends, books are much better lol.
                The things we know now.

  1. Thanks for the tag! I really need to get my crap together and start getting all these tags done lol

I vote Pillars of the Earth because someone recommended it to me and I want to know if it is any good… I’ll expect your review by Monday 😜

Ahh Nicholas Sparks! That man really knows how to rip your heart out and stomp on it doesn’t he?!

    1. My Mum made me buy Pillars of the Earth and she forgot to mention it was 1000 pages!! I will get to it soon but just looking at that book makes me want to put it off because of the size! She had nothing but great things to say about it though so hopefully I’ll enjoy it. And I’m so behind in tags and reviews as well I’m trying to catch up XD
He does! I can hardly remember what actually happens in his books I read them so long ago, I’ll need to re-read them again when I’m looking to inflict some pain on myself bahhah

        1. I’ve had so many people tell me I should read Pillars of the Earth, but I just can’t get past that gigantic page count. It’s more like a door stop at my home than a proper book at this point.

  2. Woo! This looks like such a fun! I’m so excited to do it. I’m praying that that stack of books on your side table doesn’t fall over and kill you D: I’m really curious to see what you think of The Just City! I’m hoping to get around to it soon myself but ARGH. TBR STRUGGLES ARE REAL. I’m so jealous that you’ve read The Assassin’s Curse (even though you didn’t like it) – I can’t find a dang copy of it anywhere *tantrum*. Also snaps! Because I have Pillars of the Earth on my bedside too!!

    1. I feel like if it will soon if I don’t start making a dent in it 🙈
I was about to pick up The Just City today but went with a CoHo book instead. I think I’m going to like it it sounds cool and weird.
I don’t understand why no one can find it anywhere? I actually just gave those books away 😅
Pillars of the Earth is so huge! I also have another one of his books but I want to read this one first 😊 I hope you enjoy the tag and we both like The Just City and Pillars of the Earth!

      1. *whacks with pillow* well I guess I’ll just have to plunge into by myself then. Omg – wait we should totally buddy read it! *squeals* (I hope you’re getting excited for the next box 😉)

I think the publisher must have abandoned ship which is frustrating. One day, I will find it.

  3. I *love* The Little Prince! It should certainly be required reading– but I think we also need to have people talk about it. I know I wouldn’t have gotten as much out of it without talking about it with friends. 🙂

    1. It’s so great and yes talking about it is even better 🙂 Have you seen the movie adaptation on Netflix? I thought it was wonderful, obvs not as impacting as the book but still fantastic to watch 🙂 I hope to read the original in French but I need to work on my French skills first.
