September Wrap Up & Haul!

Ah September, you were more then good to me. This month was pretty amazing, I read some amazing releases I’ve been waiting on for a year and bought some great books + seen my fellow book lovers in real life again, oh and did I mention I had a good reading month? Yeah there was that to.

The books I read and loved spoiler it was all of them:

I re-read the Throne of Glass series and then devoured Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas. I adore this series, I’ve loved Celaena since she was a smartass, cake loving, idiot with to many love choices and I continue to love her through out this series.

Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

It’s say to say that I will love every and any book Colleen Hoover writes and hopeless was no different. Hopeless was my first CoHo book that featured a teenager as the MC and it tugged at my heartstrings.

The female friendship in this book is amazing and the plot is a lot more complicated then I expected. 5/5 stars

Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover17340050

Losing Hope is a companion book from Dean Holder’s point of view instead of Sky’s. I enjoyed seeing everything from his perspectives and gaining more of a backstory to his character but there was none of the suspense that comes with CoHo’s books because I already new what was happening. SO while I liked it, it wasn’t 5 stars for me. 3/5 stars

Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover

Is it just me, or does everyone love to binge read CoHo? It’s like I start one book and don’t want to read anything else but more from her. Maybe Someday features a mail love interest who is deaf, and our MC who writes music with him. This book also comes with a sound track which I loved. I have reading lyrics in books because I can never put a tune to them. The soundtrack mixed with this fantastic series really made the reading experience wonderful. 4/5 stars

The Vampire Academy series! I KNOW, why oh why didn’t I read this earlier? This series is so fantastic, the character growth, those nerve racking moments, the drama, the heart stopping moments, the friendships, the romances, the struggles. Gosh I could go on all day about this series and I WILL, when I finally post my reviews. For now all I can say is, if your like last months me and putting off reading the series even though everyone is yelling at you to, just READ IT! If you don’t like it feel free to blame me xD

The Just City by Jo Walton

This book is all types of weird, with Robots and adults from all different times and eras in the world put together in one city to train 10 year olds to be philosophers and their “best” selves.

I did my very first buddy read with Kirstie over at Upside Down Books and we started a book club so we can do it every month!

The Dragon’s Hoard Book Club is for subscribers of The Dragons Hoard box and anyone that loves Sci-fi, Fantasy, and under rated reads.

BOOK HAUL!

So I did really well this month and had a lot of pre orders come in so thank you past Casey for the foresight. I have 6 books this month and thanks to my fellow melbournian book bloggers who gave me unwanted books I only paid for 1.

The lovely Sarah from Written Word Worlds gave me book 1-4 of The Lorian Legacies series, I have these as ebooks but I’ve been wanting to re-read the physical copies for a while. Thank you Sarah!

Also the amazing Read At Midnight gave me a copy of Ruined by Amy Tintera, I didn’t LOVE her Reboot series but I definitely enjoyed it so I can’t wait to read this!

I also received Strings by David Este a gender swapped Pinochio retelling in my Dragon’s Hoard box, This is our book clubs book of the month.28562419.jpg

    1. It was so good! I can’t wait to read Bloodlines now 😀 I was surprised at how many books I got in but I just love the VA books so much I read them all with in one day (a lot of caffeine was consumed last month LMAO)

  5. Dang girl! You read a lot of books. I used to be able to read 15+ books a month (throwback to my GR’s days haha) but now I read about 4-8. :/
And I STILL haven’t finished Empire of Storms. I waited in agony for a whole year for EoS to release, and now that it has, I have no urge to pick it up. XD
    Great wrap up!! 🙂

    1. Tell me about it! I blame VA series for being so addicting XD I flew through them! + I’ve re-read throne of Glass so many times I could probably recite lines in my sleep *opps* so they were pretty fast reads.

I was like that with Lady Midnight! I couldn’t wait for it to come out and when I had it in my hands I was just like ehhh (Although I loved it when I finally read it)

      Thank you! xx

ToG will hopefully get you through your ACOTAR feels, I love the series but it does have it’s flaws. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

    1. haha Hopefully you can get to it and like it, I can’t wait to see what you think I don’t want to jinx you but I have a feeling you’ll be a bit meh about it HOPEFULLY I’M WRONG!

The VA series was amazing, I regret putting it off for so long. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. The whole series was a solid 4/5 for me and book 3 was my favorite XD

  6. 14 books?!?! That is INSANITY!!! Good for you my friend. I have yet to read a CoHo book, but November 9 and It Ends With Us are sitting on my shelf right now calling my name 🙂 I read I Am Number Four a few years ago and really enjoyed it, but never continued on with the series for some reason… Maybe if you read it and enjoy them, it will motivate me to pick the series back up!

Here is to another fantastic reading month in October!

    1. I Know right! I blame Rachelle Mead and her fantastic writing skills :’D

November 9 and It ends with us are fantastic, I hope you love them! I’ve read all the I am Number 4 series except for the last one and now I’m feeling a bit like you, Maybe we can motivate each other XD

Octobers going to be a great reading month but also scary because for some reason I’ve chosen to read a lot of Stephen King books, I’m nearly finished the first one and I think I’m going to need an extremely happy book to help me sleep tonight DX
