All year the half-bloods have been preparing for battle against the Titans, knowing the odds of victory are grim. Kronos’s army is stronger than ever, and with every god and half-blood he recruits, the evil Titan’s power only grows. While the Olympians struggle to contain the rampaging monster Typhon, Kronos begins his advance on New York City, where Mount Olympus stands virtually unguarded. Now it’s up to Percy Jackson and an army of young demigods to stop the Lord of Time.
In this momentous final book in the New York Times best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, the long-awaited prophecy surrounding Percy’s sixteenth birthday unfolds. And as the battle for Western civilization rages on the streets of Manhattan, Percy faces a terrifying suspicion that he may be fighting against his own fate.
The Last Olympian… THE LAST BOOK
There is nothing that I like better than a good ending, everything wrapped up nicely, all my characters accounted for and good reasoning behind what happened. Rick Riordan didn’t let me down with this last book.
This whole book is basically a giant battle and I adored it! Of course mythology was everywhere and we got to meet new gods. Percy is a great leader, Annabeth is the strongest willed character I have read about in a long time and Tyson came through leading a whole cyclops army and helping his Dad keep the ocean attacks at bay.
I don’t know what else to say without spoiling so I’ll just say, as much as I was eh at the first few books this series is truly wonderful and so epic. My main wish is that I had read it when I was younger because Percy would have been my favourite.
If you are older and umming and erring over reading these books I would definitely recommend them.
Riordans writing and characters are so well done, the imagery is vivid and sucks you into the world right away. As much as book 1 and 2 were a little young for me I still liked them, I don’t think there was ever a chance of me disliking this series because as I’ve said in every review its fun:
From bull fights and exploding schools, capture the flag with taser spears, traveling on underwater mermaid horses to save your satire best friend from marry someone completely wrong for him, to labyrinths full of puzzles tricks and cleaning up piranha horse poo it’s all so ridiculous and amazing the trouble these books take us through to save the world and the gods and I am so glad I decided to pick this series up.
I loved it and wish they made more of the books into movies!!

I heard they’re doing another adaptation soon! I think there’s plans for a TV adaptation which I think would work pretty well if they actually do it.
I’ve watched some of the first movie but need to go back and watch them even though I know they won’t compare to the books xD

The Ares coming in scene? That one broke my heart I was so proud of charles girlfirend (I forget her name D:) But what she did to help by impersonating Clarrise was so heartfelt even if she had done wrong to them in the past.

What an enticing review. I watched the film but couldn’t bring myself to read the books, I am not sure why. I might give them a try after this, thank you for sharing! 🙂

Thank you! I watched half of the first movie but wasn’t to into it, I plan on trying again since I’ve read the books 🙂 The first two books were a little young for me but I still recommend the series the characters grow and get older with each book so my rating improved as the series progressed 🙂
Definitely let me know what you think if you do pick it up!

Yay! I actually rebought them all in HB and I have no regrets (though my bank account does) Maybe read the Kane Chronicles next though as while I still really like it it may be his weakest series.
