Signed, sealed, delivered…
While spacing out in chemistry class, Lily scribbles some of her favorite song lyrics onto her desk. The next day, she finds that someone has continued the lyrics on the desk and added a message to her. Intrigue!
Soon, Lily and her anonymous pen pal are exchanging full-on letters—sharing secrets, recommending bands, and opening up to each other. Lily realizes she’s kind of falling for this letter writer. Only, who is he? As Lily attempts to unravel the mystery and juggle school, friends, crushes, and her crazy family, she discovers that matters of the heart can’t always be spelled out…
Lets just start off with saying I love Kasie West, even though I’ve given some of her books lower ratings I still love her as an Author and will buy anything she writes. Why? Because she does cliché plots and tropes so gosh darn well!
P.S I like you is full of you highschool drama, the bitchy popular girl, crazy family, best friends, and boy drama and I loved ever part of it which sounds strange but I just couldn’t stop turning the pages.
Lily is our MC and comes from a family that is all over her and each other constantly, she loves them but also wants some time to herself to play and write music. When Lily’s busted in science class writing lyrics instead of notes she’s forced to put her notebook away and scribbles down some lyrics to a favorite band on the table only to see the next line written in the following class.
Could you imagine this? I think this would have been so awesome to have experienced when you find someone who likes the same music as you and even the more obscure stuff! I was already shipping this mysterious person. Lily and her pen pal start leaving notes under the desk until Lily decides she’d like to know who her pen pal is.
After boundless note passing and creating a list of “suspects” Lily is all to close to finding out who her note passing friend is and doesn’t know what to do about it… Cute, funny, adorableness/awkwardness starts from here and just gets better.
4 / 5 stars definitely recommend if you’re looking for a light cute contemporary.
