Top Ten Tuesday – Most Anticipated SPRING releases

Top Ten Tuesdays I AM BACK, I tend to promise myself I’ll do these every week and then get distracted and somehow lose track of when Tuesday is so ah well, I’m here now. Check out The Broke and Bookish for these prompts and let me know if you’re joining in this week so I can go add even more new releases to my TBR.

Obviously I am on the other side of the world and it’s spring here YAY NO MORE WINTER, so here are my top ten fall spring releases:

33152795.jpgInvictus by Ryan Graudin

AH TIME TRAVEL YES PLEASE. I read the first chapter from this as a sampler and already can’t wait for more. I’m going in semi blind because I know I’ll like what it’s about and want it to surprise me as much as possible.

29385546.jpgWarcross by Marie Lu

I liked the Legend series and can’t wait to read this. I’ve read a few (not many) books about VR and love the theme. Plus have you seen how pretty the UK hardback is?! ITS RAINBOW NAKED AH.

34567771One Dark Throne by Kendare Black

I admit I didn’t LOVE Three Dark Crowns but I did like the ending and I have high hopes that this book will keep the same pace the ending gave us. Gimme 3 sisters banding together… or fighting against each other… whatever works, I’ll be happy with either.

35098840.jpgArtemis by Andy Weir

I loved The Martian so I’m super excited to read Andy Weirs newest release. It’s set on the moon and has a 26-year-old female protagonist. I LOVE YA sci fi but I also love older because we can get grittier at times. I’m hoping this is packed full of adventure and humor like The Martian was.

31450852.jpgTower of Dawn by Sarah J Maas

I’m not as pumped for this book as past Casey would have been but after seeing so many reviews that have said it surprised them and they loved it I’ve bumped it up my TBR and will be reading it sooner then planned. Sarah J Maas isn’t the most amazing author but her books are always light and easy to read so I’m excited to see what I think of Chaols story.

32991569.jpgJane, Unlimited by Kristin Cashore

I really liked the Graceling trilogy so I’m excited for this one. The synopsis is super vague but that’s okay with me, I’m expecting a strong female lead, grief, and big life decisions, mixed in with a dose of fantasy.

25446297.jpgUnearthed by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

I just finished the Starbound trilogy, I loved it and can’t wait for more co-authored books by these two! Especially when it’s described as Indiana Jones meets Lara Croft in space. GIMME

Plus Meagan and Amie are doing an Aussie book tour yay!

28238589Otherworld by Jason Seigal

This one is one I wasn’t sure of but the more I look at it the more I think I’m going to enjoy it. It’s another Virtual reality sucks humanity in type story and I am not hating this trend at all xD I’m wary of it because I’m unsure if it’s just written so it can be adapted to TV but hope the writing does the idea justice *fingers crossed*

28421168.jpgRenegades by Marisa Meyer

You know what I love? What I don’t read enough of? What I need right now? SUPER HERO STORIES. You know what else I LOVE, vengeance plots, you know what this book has? THATS RIGHT both of those things. Plus Lunar chronicles is one of my fave series so I’m so excited for new Marisa Meyer!

34466922.jpgSleeping Beauties By Stephen and Owen King

NEW KING, Woman all asleep and going on murderous rampages when a man wakes them? Is this book my auto biography or what. I love King, I love this premise, I am super excited to get my hands on this book and see how King explores the nature of humans when one gender just falls asleep to be awoken into fast zombie creatures? I am a bit wary and hope this book will explore misogyny and deeper themes esp with a story line like this.

So here is my top ten most anticipated, I know for sure I’ll be reading Invictus, Warcross, and Unearthed as soon as they are in my hands but the rest… Might go over into next years tbr xD SO MANY BOOK HALP < basically my life.

What books are you looking forward to? Any of the same ones?

  1. Yay! Hello, fellow Aussie-spring-list-blogger 😀
I have my eyes on ‘Artemis’ as well, as I liked ‘The Martian’, although it was way out of my comfort zone. I am reading so many good reviews about it and will probably pick it up at some point 🙂

‘Sleeping Beauties’ sounds so good as well, I wonder how Owen King’s writing is.. I read everything by King anyways and will give his son a chance as well 🙂

    1. I love sci fi so it’s perfect for me xD Hopefully it lives up to The Martian!
I haven’t read anything by Owen either, I LOVE Joe Hill (his other son’s) writing so it will be cool to see what Owen’s like or if we even notice who’s writing what.

    1. Yes! Esp with how the first book left us, the cliff hanger was literal and made me want the next one so badly even though I didn’t really enjoy the first 60% XD Hopefully One Dark Thrones ending isn’t as shocking but it probably will be.

      1. I was the same. I didn’t really like the first 50% of the book, but then it got so good and then suddenly ended. It feels like I have been waiting for so long for this second book to come out. Love a good cliff hanger though

      1. Gaaah I don’t wanna think about next year! Especially when we’re right on new releases time so I’m double-drowning, noooo! XD
Yuuuus you definitely need Sanderson in your life! At least you won’t run out of King any time soon, nothing worse than having 0 new books by a fave to read.

    1. Oooh I haven’t looked up reviews for Artemis yet, I have the eArc so I’m going in slightly blind and hoping I like it 😀 I’ll try not hype it as much as the martian incase it falls flat.

  3. Ugh I am so out of the loop when it comes to new releases! I vowed I wouldn’t look at all the pretty new books until I dig myself out of my old ARC hole…. I have had my eye on Warcross. It has been getting some wonderful hype 🙂

Oh, and I’m totally jealous you are heading into Spring… Winter is going to hit us hard this year in the northern hemisphere I’m thinking 😦

    1. I am so excited too! I’m sick of wearing a million layers to escape the cold although I’d say your winters would be worst then mine!
That’s a good plan that I should probably do to but there are just so many new pretties to distract me from other books xD

Warcross looks so fantastic! I cant wait to read it, definitely worth breaking your TBR!

  4. I think you will be surprised by ToD because I was!! It’s actually really good, so I hope you like it 🙂 I am reading Three Dark Crowns at the moment and don’t mind it, though I find it hard remembering who everyone is from chapter to chapter!

  5. Great picks for this week Casey (I always realise how many Australian bloggers I’m following when this TTT topic comes around! :D)
Invictus is an incredible book so I really hope you love it, I’ll be keeping an eye out for your review that’s for sure. Also I can’t wait to get my hands on Renegades. Marissa Meyer is one of my all-time favourite authors so that is a highly anticipated release of mine, and I know it’s going to be amazing. 🙂
I hope you enjoy all these books when you get around to them, and again great picks for this week. 🙂 ❤️

  6. There is such the horrendous number of books coming out at the moment, it’s positively insulting because I can’t read them all. BUT OMG LET’S FLAIL ABOUT INVICTUS I’M SO EXCITED. GRAUDIN IS MY QUEEN AND I CAN’T, MY FEELS ARE NOT READY FOR THE CHARACTERS SHE’S PROBABLY GOING TO TORTURE SLOWLY TO DEATH IN THIS BOOK. LIKE AHHHH SAVE ME FROM MY EMOTIONS CASEY.

Also, I only found out LAST. WEEK. that Andy Weir is coming out with a new book. Where did that bag of shame go? I must put myself in it.

    1. BAHAHHAA Kirstie you crack me up, is there room for two in that bag of shame I shall join you xD

I read Wolf by Wolf mainly coz you love it so much! I’m thinking of getting blood for blood on audio so I can finish it before Invictus is in my arms 😀
