The Autumn Book Tag

Thank you Reg @ She Latitude for this tag! Fellow Melbournians unite in Autumn XD

I know most of you guys are from the other side of the world so I hope you guys are having a great Summer (I am more then a little bit jealous) but for us upside down people it’s a beautiful Autumn.

What is your favorite thing about Autumn

The colors, I love the leaves and trees changing and crunching leaves on the ground. I don’t no why but I find it oddly satisfying to step on crunchy leaves. Oh also my birthdays in Autumn (March) which means ALOT of book hauls. I also love T-shirt weather: when it’s not to hot and not to cold, just perfect.

What book reminds you of your school days

I’m going to go with Author and this isn’t really because its about a girl that went to a school similar to me more about what I used to read and re-read in Highschool.

V.C.Andrews- Specifically the Heaven series and Flowers in the Attic series, GOD I love these trashy books, it was like daytime TV for me. I’ve read these series upwards of 6 times each.

Also Twilight deserve a mention because Twilight was my Highschool life #teamJacob hahaha! I was a Twiheart and I’m not afraid to admit it.

In my defense I was 13 guys give me a break! hahaha

What cover reminds you of Autumn?IMG_1976

The Girl who Circumnavigated Fairy Land in a ship of her own making, God that’s a long title. Just look at this cover: It’s red and yellow and all things that are Autumn to me.

What is your Favorite horror or Halloween film?

I do really watch Horror but if I had to choose I’ll go for Freddy Krugor (original movies) I used to watch these over and over as a kid and they are were horrifying then, but now I think Freddies a bit of a smart ass. Do you remember the scene where he steals the hearing aid and then pretends to creep up on the guy? PMSL

What Fall release are you looking forward to?

A Court of Mist and Fury, I’ve never been so happy to receive a pre-order XD I had to force myself to re-read ACOTAR before starting ACOMAF and I couldn’t get enough, this book is up there with Six of Crows for me. I’ll most likely be re-reading it again before the months up!

What Autumn movie release are you looking forward to?

Technically it’s a Winter release but I can’t wait for Me Before You, I love the book and I’ve watched the trailer multiple times! I’ve already arranged for a friend to go with me and haven’t told her what its about. BRING ON THE TEARS

What are 3 books do you plan to read this Autumn?

  1. Room by Emma Donoghue which I am currently reading and loving review will be up later this week!
  2. The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater
  3.  Vicious by V. E. Scwab

Tag you’re it:

Also to all you upside down bloggers like me that are in Autumn right now I tag you!

QOTD: Where are you guys located? and what’s something cool about your city?

I’m in Melbourne Australia and before Melbourne was called Melbourne it was named Batmania! I know right, why did we ever change it?!

Unfortunately it was not named Batmania because the first settlers were obsessed with Gotham City or Bruce Wayne, but for John Batman, who was one of Melbourne’s founding fathers.

    1. Glad you liked the tag! It’s a fun one and there’s no real boundaries to answers which I liked 🙂
I have a few friends that live up in Perth, I’ve been meaning to visit for a while now. I’m hoping to road trip up there soon 😀

        1. We’re planning to stop over along the way and make a camping trip out of it 🙂 We’ll probably go along the coast line and stay in Esperance with some friends, not sure if we’ll go all the way into the city during the roadtrip 🙂

  1. Thanks for doing the tag!

I’m also SO EXCITED for Me Before You, especially because I find both leads really easy on the eyes. I think it’s gonna be one of those movies I think of very fondly even though it’s probably going to be really, really sad.

Also yay for Vicious! I haven’t read it yet but I love Schwab and that’s on my (eventual) TBR as well.

    1. yes, I love the cast there will be many tears!
I have A Darker shade of magic on my TBR list as well but I think I’m going to pick up Vicious first 🙂 I haven’t read anything from her yet but I’ve heard really great things.

  2. I read a few V.C. Andrews books when I was around 12-14 because my mum had stacks of them. I think they were way too much for me to comprehend, but I was addicted to them 😂

I hope you love The Raven King!

I had no idea that Melbourne used to be called Batmania! That’s amazing. And to answer your QOTD I’m from a really small coastal town in the middle of nowhere in WA, haha.

    1. Mine we’re my Mums as well, I need to buy my own copies and re visit them. I was explaining Flowers in the Attic to a friend and she just had a horrified look on her face like “Why would you even read that” :’) bahaha.

How weird is it? I don’t know why they ever changed it XD I live quite close to the city but want to move out to a small town further away eventually. As long as there’s an internet connection I’m happy 🙂
