The Aussie Book Tag

Australia let us rejoice for we are young and freeeeee… okay enough of that! I was tagged by the creator of this wonderful tag: Julia @Picnicreads, and the  lovely Michaela @Floralinkbooks to do the Aussie book tag. Thank you my wonderful Aussie book blogger friends! Check out there posts and pages guys if you haven’t already 😀

Koala:

tumblr_o9vqg7YYhZ1v5qa5no1_500.gifA Character you want to cuddle ALL DAY LONG

I want to cuddle so many characters and just keep them safe and away from all the badness in the world. I would cuddle Kell from Jesper and Wylan from Six of Crows and Jem from The Infernal Devices.

Vegemite:

A book that you love that everyone else hates

Guys if you don’t like Vegemite I don’t think we can be friends… okay maybe we can because that just means more Vegemite for me right!13455782

I love Shatter Me! I know a lot of people love this series but even more really dislike the first book because of the writing but I loved seeing Juliette’s thought process and all the crossed out lines.

Soccaroos:

16034235Favorite Fictional Squad

Why must you make this so hard Julia! WHY! My Favorite has to be my amazing Throne of Glass Court: Aeline, Rowan, Lysandra, Aedion and just quietly Manon, Dorian, Chaol.

My babies! Ah not one of these people are allowed to die I forbid it I will re write the ending for myself if they do because I won’t be able to deal.

Southern Cross:

Most recent 5 star read27362503.jpg

Well I tend to be very generous with my stars but I’m trying to be more objective lately but my most recent 5 star read was It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. Arh I loved this book and all it stood for.

Patriotism:

Favorite book from an Author from your country:

23395680

Illuminae by Amie Koufmann and Jay Kristoff! Lookie two Aussie authors it’s a bonus answer

Echidna

A Book you like to look at but it physically hurts to readgiphy.gif

Rebel Belle by Rachael Hawkins. This book is beyond pretty in its pastel colors but I couldn’t stand the Main character and felt like ripping my hair out while I was reading her. Sorry guys I know it’s a popular book but we just didn’t get along *shrugs*

Ned Kelly

978695.jpgA book that is grim but an iconic must read

The Green Mile, this book is grim and sad but truly fantastic and definitely a must read for everyone.

Great Barrier Reef

A Book that had you gaping in awe157993

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint- Exupery. This book is full of wonder, it make you think about the grim realities of Adulthood, being a child and just life itself. I never read this as a child and picked it up last month and I highly recommend it to every person.

Pavlova

traditional-pavlova-14265_l.jpegA light fluffy book that you couldn’t help but love

Since You’ve been gone by Morgan Matson, This book is fun and real. There is a lot of light and happy bits but it is also a great coming of age/out of your shell story and I adored the Main character. Also Jenny Han’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before & Stephanie Perkins Anna and The French Kiss is a fluff ball of fluffyness.

Milo:

A Genre/Author you reach for to get you out of a slump

Contemporary as a Genre and Colleen Hoover as an Author. Contemporary’s are my go to when fantasy books are weigh on my brain and I need some brain candy to stay away from the dreadful slump BUT Colleen Hoover is a go to too get out of a slump if I’m in it, her books just suck me in and don’t let me go until I’ve devoured ever sentence twice. Any of the below are pretty good for breaking out of a slump:

TAGGED, TAG, TAGGY, TAG, TAG, TAG, TAG, TAG, TAG, TAG

I’ve included you guys from all parts of the world because even though this is called the Aussie Book Tag its questions are for everyone 🙂 Also Do you guys not know what an Icy Pole is? I was listening to Rainbow Rowell’s panel on the weekend and she was shocked that that was a real word here.

  1. haha omg this tag is PERFECT. And as if Icy Pole isn’t a universal word??? WHAT DOES EVERY ONE ELSE CALL THEM!!?? *chaos*

Ahem. I can’t wait to do this one because it looks like so much fun! I blame my British heritage (well, I mean I *am* British, but let’s make it sound more distant) for my dislike of Vegemite. I probably shouldn’t admit that, I lose friends over that fact. One day, I am sure I will get myself to like it. To be fair, I don’t like Marmite either. I feel like Nutella is a good middle ground? *eats entire jar of Nutella*. When I was in England recently I thoroughly enjoyed tormenting my cousins by telling them horror stories about spiders and drop bears. They’re 10 *smiles evilly*.

    1. I’m glad you like it! That’s what I was thinking I’ve never even thought of the word Icy pole before that little fact was mentioned on the weekend, complete chaos XD.

I hope you have fun doing it! I won’t dis friend you because of your non love for Vegemite but if you don’t like Tim Tams we’re going to have a problem hahah!
I dis-like Marmite and I like Nutella but not on bread (I have a weird thing that even though I know it tastes okay I can’t get my head around the thought of chocolate on bread)
It’s so fun to get people with spider and drop bear stories! Can’t wait to see your answers 🙂

    1. You guessed right! But it doesn’t always have to be on a stick sometimes there just in one of those death packages that make you look like the joker when you try to eat them (Google zooper doopers if you don’t have them over their and I’m just making my self sound crazy 😅🙈) What do you call them if you don’t say icy pole?
I hope you enjoy the tag if you do it 😁

  3. Vegemite is life 👌🏻 I love that Rainbow Rowell was confused about Icy Pole, haha. It’s not that different to Ice Pop 😅 And I love seeing you talk about how much you love Illuminae!! Thank you for the tag, btw!! Loving all the Aussie features I’ve been seeing around the blogosphere lately.
