It’s the 5th so already a week into July but I’ve been procrastinating and haven’t really read anything so here’s my TBR I hopefully get through, I feel a bit slumpy so this month may go completely off the rails, we shall see.
Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes
I actually started this in June and I’m half way through but it’s the reason for my kinda slump. I like it! It just hasn’t gripped me and the story doesn’t have me wanting to find out more? I do want to finish it this month though even if it is an effort.
Yellow by Megan Jacobson
I’m actually annotating this book with a bunch of friends! I can’t wait to read it and add in all my thoughts and feels as I go. I am running out of contemporary books on my shelf so this will be needed to help break up my SFF reads. Also #loveozya *raises hands emoji*
This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner
I really enjoyed These Broken Stars and I’ve been meaning to carry on with the series for what feels like forever. Amie is a writing machine at the moment with 3 more books coming out in Dec-March and I want all her published work before going onto her next books.
Defy the Stars by Claudia Gray
Continuing the space theme I just grabbed Defy the Stars and added it to the pile. I don’t have high hopes of starting this as I’ve heard a lot of it’s okayish reviews but I do love a good space opera so I might like it more than others. Only time will tell.
Stardust by Neil Gaiman
MY FIRST GAIMAN! I am being nagged at by my partner to watch American Gods which I’m not doing until I’ve read the book and I’m not reading the book until I’ve read this book. Basically it’s not looking like we’re watching the TV series for a while…
The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
WHY YES this book was on last months TBR WHY YES I didn’t read it again. Am I lying about picking it up this month? Who knows anymore. I willll read it maybe, hopefully, someday… I mean this month! Yep I will read it this month *fails lie detector test*
Our Dark Duet by V.E. Schwab
Who told VE it was okay to publish two TWO finally books within 6 months of each other? My heart still hasn’t recovered from A Conjuring of Light so lets see how I pull up after being torn into pieces by Schwab once again.
A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers
Who else is loving all the Sci fi I have on this months TBR? Gimme all the space stories. After reading and loving A Small Angry Planet last month I can’t wait to read this companion novel and fall in love with the characters once again. This universe is diverse and beautiful, the cultures, the mixed histories, the writing! MAN Becky is amazing and I one day hope I can create characters the way she can.
Lord of Shadows by Cassasndra Clare
I DONT ACTUALLY WANNA READ THIS BECAUSE I KNOW ITS GOING TO HURT. This book is going to hurt me and crush my soul and I wont recover until 2019 because that’s when the finally is released! WHO ALLOWED THIS. Ideally I’d like to wait for a little longer so it’ll be closer to the release of the final but I’m so scared of spoilers, I’ve already seen one and don’t want to see any more.
So that is my set TBR, I have actually started and nearly finished A Quite Kind Of Thunder by Sara Barnard, I’m really loving it and I’m hoping it’ll dig me out of my semi slump.
I’d love to hear what you plan on reading this month? Also if there is any sci fi on there I’m always looking for my space books to snatch up!
Hope everyone is already having an amazing July ❤
I want to read The Hate U Give and When we Collided by Emery Lord among others 😉 I have low expectation this month due to family time with the kids. Your list is impressive but.. do read Lord of the Shadows it was fantastic!

MURRRRRRR I AM BUT V SLOWELY 😦
It’s okay but I seriously think it should be left as a standalone, I put it down at page 200ish and read something else coz I was slumpy and didn’t feel like picking it up. I’m planning on finishing it this week and doing a full review on my thoughts but unless something epic happens soon I don’t think it’s going to be a great review xD

YOU’VE NEVER READ A NEIL GAIMAN BOOK?!?!?!? Ahhhhh I’m so excited for you to read one now! Stardust is one of my favorites! Neverwhere and The Ocean at the End of the Lane are up there too. I cannot wait to see what you think!!! Happy reading in July Casey 🙂

Ditto Amanda above. And basically all of these books are on my TBR as well! I totally understand the whole idea of pushing a book from month to month on your TBR. I keep doing that with my challenge reads…
It’s so embarrassing! I can’t wait to see what you think of these books. Particularly This Shattered World. I’m still on the fence about These Broken Stars, and I’m not certain I want to continue the series. Here’s hoping you’ll help! 😀

Oooh I liked These Broken Stars so I don’t know if I’ll be much of a help xD It has it’s cliche bits and was very much a space opera but I enjoyed that so I think I’ll enjoy this one 🙂
