This week is the Aussie/NZ YA Bloggers group has started a blog hop. The moderators are:
They have put together 10 questions to help celebrate our amazing home-grown Authors and I’m so happy to be participating.
I love that it’s home-grown and surprisingly under hyped, there are some great books that my international friends haven’t even heard of and I love introducing hidden
gems to friends 🙂
Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman, I actually meet these 2 at the Nevernight launch and they are so down to earth and fantastic. Also Mark Zusak, John Marsden. Some new favorites are Jacinta Maree and Lynette Noni.
Tomorrow when the war began by John Marsden. I devoured this series in my teens and remember reading them over and over again, I love the world and all the companion novels (The Ellie chronicles) My series is seriously mismatched and worn down but I love them more for it because their childhood memories.
Nevernight by Jay Kristoff, I’m sorry but what even is a Jay Kristoff? Where did he come from and why have I not read his work earlier? I loved every minute of Nevernight and it’s not going to be for everyone because the writing is quite heavy but I loved having so much information about the world and such an amazing main characters.
C.S Pacat’s Captive Prince series, I haven’t read this yet so I’m counting her as a this answer because I can’t think of anyone else! Please recommendations people?
Asides from the obvious Illuminae series I’m going to go with Akarnae by Lynette Noni this is a 5 book series and is only up to book . The world is fantastic and book two is above and beyond better than book 1 so I can’t wait to see what the next book has in store for us + lookit the cover *heart eyes* so pretty
Soulless by Jacinta Maree I wasn’t expecting much from this book but I thoroughly enjoyed it, the premise is different from anything else I’ve ever read, people regenerate only to go crazy as they start remembering past lives. I really liked the main character and even though the ending wasn’t what I hoped it would be I’m continuing on with the series.
Illuminae You know how many people I have forced this book on?! So far everyone’s loved it so all is well! If you haven’t read this please please pleaasseee go read it you won’t regret it!
Frankie by Shivan Plozza This book sounds fantastic and I can’t wait to read about an Australian teenager and I’m pretty sure I can relate to that 🙂
Also On The Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta, I have no idea why I didn’t read this in high school with everyone else but I’m planning on reading this very soon.
I love all my Aussie blogger friends but here are a few of the awesome Aussie bloggers I love to follow and here bookish news from 🙂
