June To Be Read Pile – Is it just me or am I going to have an epic month?!

JUNE HELP STOP GIVE ME MORE TIME HELP.

^If you’re not thinking the same thing are we even in the same month? It’s nearing the middle of the year and there are so mnay books on my TBR, so many new releases and so many re-reads to do its crazy. BUT I think I have devised the best TBR for June and will hopefully read a lot of awesome books.

Whats on the menu?

Well as this post is late I have already started in on my TBR, first read is Horns by Joe Hill

8727968I am loving this, there was a Carrie joke and I was just like OMG HOW DO YOU EVEN SPEAK TO YOUR FATHER WITHOUT FANGIRLING and then I wondered if he was allowed to read his Dad’s work as a young-en and then wondered how he wasn’t scared his dad would go all Jack and come at him with an Ax and then wondered how I could get Stephen King to adopt me.

Anyway Mr Hill is so talented and I am LOVING this book, devil out for revenge anyone…

25786523A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

I basically know nothing about this except sci fi and friends have raved and I don’t want to go and look at the synopsis, I’m sure I’ve read it at some point but I’ve forgotten and want to go in blind. Seriously all you need to say to get me to read a sci fi is “hey look at this sci fi I liked” and I’m just all in.

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Again see the above Sci Fi everyone loves and I just need martians in my life?! I’m really excited to read this but I didn’t dive in right away because it’s not actually finished?! I thought the series was done for some reason, I still cant wait to catch up and yell about it with everyone.

Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes

If you’ve been here for even a little bit you’ll know I ADORED YOU and this is the second book.

Look just give me psychotic serial killers that lock people up and force them to read?!  Seriously though I wouldn’t mind having some quite time to work through my TBR 0.0

pssst it’s very stabby and i like that in my thrillers

30724132

Geekerella by Ashley Poston

It’s a retelling with Geeks? Need I say more! I through this in because it looks super cute and fluffy and I’ll probably need that after reading stabby sci fi books.

Also the covers the prettiest and I need to move it to my read shelf as it will look awesome there.

1473780Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch

The next book in the Gentleman Bastards series

I cant wait to dive back into my bastard thieves world, such snark, many laughs, punching happens more than a lot, as well as sneaking and pirating. Locke is one of my favourite characters I’ve read in a long time I hope he doesn’t let me down in this book!

18366739The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon

I have SO many people shouting at me to hurry up and read this, I have technically read half on audio but I just kept zoning in and out so I thought the physical would hold my attention better.

26836910And last but hopefully not least is The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid

I mean robots developing feelings? I am there! The only reason I haven’t picked this up sooner is I was scared it would be very tropey and not for me, I’ve read reviews from some people I trust and think I’m going to like it!

So so that is my June to be read stack! What are you reading this month? Are any of these your faves or are they on your to be read too?

I seriously don’t see myself not liking any of these books so here’s to a good month!

  2. You are going to have an epic month! My TBR is pretty well all #LoveOzYA this month! I’m finishing Fairytales for Wilde Girls at the moment, then I’ve got Ballad for a Mad Girl, Our Chemical Hearts and Remind Me How This Ends waiting. I also really want to get my hands on copies of Wreck and My Life as A Hashtag. And if I get through all those, I have a non-fic book on pirates!

    1. Eeee! I need to have a loveozya month soon, I will be finishing the anthology (i’m 5 stories in and reading it between books). I hope you love all these, I’m dying to read Wreak I adored Black and need to read Risk xD Chemical hearts is really good, I hope you love it 🙂 There are just so many loveozya titles I want to read asap, after going to Yamatters my TBR has tripled but I still need to buy the books. The plan is to work through my owned tbr but it’s so tempting to just haul new books and read them instead!

WHAT IS THIS NON FIC ON PIRATES 😀 I will be keeping an eye out for a review on it, I need to some real pirate tales in my life!

      1. Oh man, I know there is SO MUCH amazing YA coming out at the moment! I’m the same as you: I keep buying more books before I finish the ones I have!! The pirate book is called Pirate Women: The Princesses, Prostitutes, and Privateers Who Rules the Seven Seas. I can only presume it will be awesome. 🙂

  3. I don’t know how I wouldn’t have fangirled if I were Joe growing up. Maybe he didn’t realize how big a deal his parents were because they kept things super chill at home?

I’ve got Geekerella on my list as well, along with Symptoms of Being Human and Every Heart a Doorway. I don’t really do monthly TBRs but those last two are for guest post reviews for Pride Month.

  4. I’ve got The Long Way to Small Angry Planet on my June TBR as well! I’ve heard so many good things about it and I finally got my hands on a copy. Truth be told, I don’t think the blurb gives anything away because I’ve read it and still don’t know what it’s about, so I’m looking forward to it!

Can’t wait to see what you think about these books!

  5. This looks like an awesome month of books! I love The Bone Season books, I’m hoping to do a re-read at some point before I finally get to The Song Rising. And I’ve heard great thinks about Red Rising and Red Seas under Red Skies (Lots of red going on this month, haha).

  6. The Bone Season is awesome, yay 100% recommend! Also OMG I have to read Geekerella too soon because it’s been sitting on my shelf for a while now and it seems so good + I haven’t read a really amazing contemporary in ages sadly! Lovely TBR and I’m sure you’ll be able to get to them all – don’t stress!

  7. I’ve only read The Bone Season on your list (which I loved and hope you enjoy) but I’ve heard a lot of great things about Red Rising. Everyone has been telling me to read that one lol. I’ve also been hearing some great thinks about Geekerella. Great TBR!! 😊

    1. Thanks Mel! I swear everyone but me has read The Bone Season I’m so behind with the series but hopefully I’ll catch up xD
The hype for Red Rising is huge and I’m excited to finally dive into it. Geekerella has exploded over all my socials so I couldn’t walk past it in the books store :’D Plus it’s so pretty!

  8. I NEED TO READ SO MANY OF THESE!!! Especially Hidden Bodies and The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet. The Bone Season and Red Rising have been on my TBR forever. Also I should have read The Diabolic forever ago because I got it as an ARC on Netgalley OOPS lmao. I’m super interested in Horns too!!

    1. I can’t wait to get back into Joes world again I’m just praying I love it as much as the first! Small Angry Planet gets so many great reviews I’m super excited to dive into it! Hopefully we both love these XD

I leave netgalleys for way to long DX I had to go through and deny some requests coz they were over 4 months old and I just new I wasn’t going to read them, The Diabolic sounds really interesting tho.

I’m 50 pages left of Horns and really liking it, it’s not scary scary but it’s so unsettling and just wow, Joe always impresses me with his writing and the characters his mind spews out.

  9. What a great TBR! I really enjoyed Red Rising for what it was– dystopian sci-fi meets Game of Thrones. The Red Rising Trilogy is completed, but Brown is working on a second trilogy set in the same universe. It takes place 10 years after the first trilogy ends, but can be standalone, is my understanding. I hope you enjoy!

I also have The Diabolic and Geekerella on my TBR. I can’t wait to see what you think of them. 🙂

    1. Ah! That makes more sense, I just saw a book in the same world and people yelling for it so I assumed he had extended the series 🙂
I’m starting Geekerella today! Just finished Horns and needed something happy making in my brain xD
