Manic Monday Madness is now officially up and running!
What is Manic Monday Madness? Its just a bit of fun I created to get me to look forward to Mondays. TGIM !
My blog has been a bit everywhere as I have only started this a month ago (yes a newbie! and I’m loving it!).
Now that I’m finally in my posting rhythm *fist pump* I am going to start a few post ideas I’ve had in my head for a while and Manic Monday Madness is just one of them!
Monday madness is simply books that taste like coffee.
Everyone has a perk of choice some have coffee, others exercise, I usually start my Mondays with waking up early and reading for an extra hour in the morning.
Monday will be my day to share with you the books that have made me get up and go, pure page turners, or feel good books that have given me some great insight or just a happy motivated feeling once I have put them down.
Now my first book that tastes like coffee is *Drum roll*
Open road Summer by Emery Lord.
Look how pretty the cover is! It looks much better in the morning then me that’s for sure!
Open road summer is a Summer road trip with two great female best friends, one a upcoming Rock star on tour, one getting over a bad relationship and wanting to have a good time whilst changing the path she has been going along. This is what YA contemporary should be: Fun and Airy, full of great themes with fantastic writing that makes you think about the bigger picture.
This book made me smile with satisfaction and have a good laugh along the way. A quick page turner and the perfect example of a YA contemporary done well.
This is sadly my only book by Emery Lord. She is on my list of need to read Authors which is unfortunately looks a little like this:
I plan on picking up some other great books from her next Summer 🙂
If your interested in this you can read the synopsis for good reads here .
You can find the paperback from The Book Depository here for $15.47
I recommended this to YA contemporary lovers looking for a story of 2 best friends, hardships, and a fantastic romance with a happy ending.
Q.Have you read this? Or anything by Emery Lord or is she also on your Authors to check out or read more lists?
