This is going to be a full spoiler review, what can I really say without getting into spoilers?!

 

Lady Midnight is amazing, I don’t know If I like it more the Clockwork Angel but it’s definitely up there. Emma Carstairs our main Female protagonist. She is funny, crazy and all the types of weird I can relate to.

Julian is sweet and ruthless when it comes to his family.
Ty and Libby are fantastic characters and I love there interactions with each other and there family vibes.
We see a lot of cameos and I loved every second of them!

 Lady Midnight knocked my Socks off.

If you guys don’t already know I’ll let you in on a secret, I LOVE funny, weird, witty, clever and strong females and that is exactly what I got from Emma.

“That’s not the spirit of the law, Emma. Remember? The Law is hard, but it is the Law.”
“I thought it was ‘the Law is annoying, but it is also flexible.”

Yes Emma that’s exactly what it is *cries of laughter*

 

Also she is the perfect type of weird, I mean:

“I wasn’t planning on dumping Cameron. We were here, and he called, and his face showed up on my phone- well, actually a llama came up on my phone because I don’t actually have a picture of him so I just used a llama- and the llama made me so angry I just couldn’t help myself.”
“Bad time to be a llama.”
“Is there ever a good time, really?”

Also she is so FUNNY, the amount I laughed in this book really surprised me, she’s like a female Herondale but funnier.

“Turn out your pockets or I’ll rip off one of your horns and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine.”
The fey looked puzzled. “Where does the sun not shine? Is this a riddle?”
Emma gave a martyred sigh and raised Cortana. “Turn them out, or I’ll start peeling your bark off. My boyfriend and I just broke up, and I’m not in the best mood.”
The faerie began slowly to empty his pockets onto the ground, glaring at her all the while. “So you’re single,” he said. “I never would have guessed.”

Emma and Julian’s relationship is heartbreakingly sweet and amazing but he’s no book boyfriend for me and doesn’t replace Jace and Will in my heart, I just don’t like him that way 😉

He’s a great guy but I don’t really think there’s much to him yet, he’s never had the chance to really be himself. He takes on so much responsibility and is a father to his siblings and will do anything to keep them safe, which I respect but I’m sure there’s a lot more to him we haven’t found out yet. Kieran describes him perfectly

“A gentle boy with a gentle soul, but every soul contains it’s own opposite, and the opposite of gentleness was ruthlessness—the beautiful wreckage of mercy.”

We see more evidence of this when he spins the story to Robert Lightwood and throws Nightshade under the bus to get the heat off him and his family.

Now we get to Mark, I absolutely loved his Faerie ways and some of the things he did were so cute and strange”

“Why are you wearing a T-shirt under your other T-shirt?” Livvy asked.
“In case one of them is stolen,” Mark said, as it were entirely normal.” Duh Livvy, why else?

Oh and
“He bumped into a pay phone and said, ‘Excuse me, miss,’ on our way in,” said Julian.

“It’s polite to apologize,” said Mark with the same small voice.

“Not to inanimate objects.”

 

Not only are the characters great but the plot line was amazing.

The start of the story had me wondering where we were going with all this. I mean I know we had to find the person who killed Emma’s parents but I had no idea where Cassie was taking us until they said the word Warlock, as soon as I read that I just yelled out Malcolm! and it all feel into place.

I loved the ending, I’m scared of whats going to happen to Julian’s heart when he sees Emma and Mark together, I hope he doesn’t turn evil or become too depressed, HOW ARE WE GOING TO GET RID OF THE PARABATAI BOND! Can they just not mark each other?
I can’t wait for the next book to see how this all plays out and what happens with Annabel and Malcolm.

Crack pot Theories:
–

• Kit: I got nothing, he’s a lost Herondale and will become a Shadowhunter but what else will he bring to the story? Will we go on adventures with him? Will Jace come see him?
  
•  Julien: When he finds out about Emma and Mark is he going to flip it? He will definitely rip up all his paintings if he does, or will he get another Girlfriend to make her jealous, will he learn the truth about what happens to parabatai when they fall in love and try to make things right or find a way out of there bond?
  
• Emma: What is she going to do with Mark? Whats happening with Tessa and Jem? Will we see some bonding time with Jem and her.
  
• Ty and Lib, will they become parabatai? Will Ty go to the scholomance and leave her?
• Will we see Jace and Clary and Izzy and Si’s wedding?
  
• Who is Alec and Magnus’s 5 year old? Could he be Sebastian demon fairy offspring? I mean he is 5!
• Annabel lee and Malcolm, they’re alive I just know it! What are they going to do together? Take down the Clave?
