Synopsis: Taken from Goodreads:
It’s springtime at St. Vladimir’s Academy, and Rose Hathaway is this close to graduation. Since Mason’s death, Rose hasn’t been feeling quite right. She has dark flashbacks in the middle of practice, can’t concentrate in class, and has terrifying dreams about Lissa. But Rose has an even “bigger” secret . . . .She’s in love with Dimitri. And this time, it’s way more than a crush. Then Strigoi target the academy in the deadliest attack in Moroi history, and Dimitri is taken. Rose must protect Lissa at all costs, but keeping her best friend safe could mean losing Dimitri forever…
FAVORITE BOOK SO FAR, I am sorry but I’m so invested in this series right now and I just can’t look away from these pages.
*Apologies in advance I am barely restraining my self from just mushing my hands over the keyboard* OADJNCVWROQCWEOFJEWINCPWMEIMFBYQP *okay now that’s out of me, lets see if I can actually form sentences yet*
This book just took the series to a whole other level for me, Rose is starting her training as a Guardian and has to shadow a Maori for the next 6 weeks and defeat other Guardians posing as Stigori.
All is well, she’ll get to hang and protect Lissa for the next 6 weeks? Easy, right?…
If you’ve read this far in the series you KNOW all that could go wrong does. Rose is starting to feel the effects from being Shadow Kissed and it’s impacting her whole future. Her biggest exam, Her most important task in school and her head is starting to betray her, causing her to slip up and make mistake that could change her a Lissa’s plans for ever.
Rose and Christians relationship really grows in this book and although their personalities clash I love that they both bond over Lissa and of course what happened to them in the last book.
Rose is going through some major craziness, Lissa’s off her meds and using Spirit with Adrian, Adrian is generally causing trouble with Rose and visiting her in her dreams. I LOVE the dream visits with Adrian he’s so crazy sometimes and I love that! why do I always like the unstable ones?
“He stepped back and threw his arms out.
“I’m always crazy around you Rose. Here, I’m going to write an impromptu poem for you.”
He tipped his head back and shouted to the sky:
“Rose is in red
But never in blue
Sharp as a thorn
Fights like one too.”
No spoilers I promise but I seriously just need to get this out here:
The fight seen at the end! YES, so good!
The end scene though! I was so sad, screaming, confused, amazed. I mean there is so many different ways we can move from here and so many ways Richelle can maneuver the plot. I’m shocked, I’m excited, I can’t wait for the next book!
5/5 stars!
Have you read this series? What is your favorite book out of them?
Mine has to be this one I loved the pacing, plot, character development, fight scenes JUST EVERYTHING basically
I actually haven’t started this series yet! Though I really want to 😊

I really appreciate that your reviews are spoiler free! Each one gets me more and more excited to pick up the series again– and that’s a HUGE feat, considering how little I enjoyed the first book. Here’s hoping it’s worth the hype. 😉

Ahhh! i hope I’m not getting you hopes up to much but I hope you love them 😀 Or at least moderately like them XD Spoilers are bad bad things and should be abolished from the world! I only post spoilers on my goodreads where I can hide them 😀

I love hiding spoilers! I got a WordPress plugin which helps me hide spoilers on my own blog. Mwaaha!

It’s life changing. The best parts to talk about are always the spoilers! I’m not at my computer now- but I’ll get that plugin name for you.

Great review. This was my fave book of the series, although I had a bit of a meltdown at the end of the book for obvious reasons lol

Haha I’m glad you liked them! You should definitely check out the Bloodlines series sometime. It’s not as good as VA (in my opinion) but more Adrian is never a bad idea! 😀
