Moral allegory and spiritual autobiography, The Little Prince is the most translated book in the French language. With a timeless charm it tells the story of a little boy who leaves the safety of his own tiny planet to travel the universe, learning the vagaries of adult behavior through a series of extraordinary encounters. His personal odyssey culminates in a voyage to Earth and further adventures.

This amazing little slice of wonderful wrapped up in a thought provoking story line is fantastic, MAGNIFICENT!
Do you ever just read a book and from the first sentence have a feeling of happiness at the writing? The joy of experiencing a great book? That’s what this was for me.
The story had every feeling you could want and was magical. This story is very hard to describe, its more the feeling that it gave me that makes me love it so much. All the characters are wonderful, the view it gives on Adulthood is genius and too true, the simplistic way it shows them is somehow complex at the same time. A line could be interpreted a thousand different ways if you asked a 1000 different people. I know understand why this is a Classic and this book will stay with me for a while yet, maybe not the plot line but the feeling it gave me, that will stay with me forever.
The Little Prince is translated to English from its original French, as I am currently learning french I just purchased Le Petit Prince and can’t wait to try to read it in its original language. The writing is amazing in English but I always wonder whats been lost in translation and if this book will mean even more to me in the original language.
This beautiful book easily gets a 5/5 stars from me and I highly recommend it to everyone with eyes.
Favorite quotes:
“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
“All grown-ups were once children… but only few of them remember it.”
Have you read this book? What did you think? Also do you know any languages other then English? I’m curious to know 🙂
Also if anyone from France is reading this and would like a Pen Pal I am so down for that!
Content en train de lire – Happy Reading!
I thought it was interesting to learn that the author referenced a plane crash he had. I had to do a little research for this book in French class. I read the first maybe 4? Chapters in French but never finished haha.

What a classic! I originally read it in French and later in English. I prefer the French, but I definitely picked up more in English because I’m not very good at French, lol. So beautiful.
