It’s Thanksgiving in the US and I actually don’t know much about that holiday except that there’s turkey and what I have seen on US shows but this prompt is pretty easy to figure out, books I’m thankful for? All of them really, but no I’ll list books that have had an impact on me, Whether that was introducing me to a new genre or making me cry and fangirl all over the place.
If you want to join in check out Broke and Bookish they have a master post with all the prompts.
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper lee– First book that made me interested in classics
Chances by Jackie Colins – For teaching me you can be sexy and a baddass woman dominating a male dominated fields and crushing people under your heels
Heaven by V.C. Andrews – for being the trash that I read over and over again and sobbed for days about as a youngin’
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins – For getting me hooked on the Young Adult genre again, seriously I went and read ever “big” YA there was and it all started here
Actually it started with Twilight by Stephenie Meyer so thanks Stephenie for your sparkly vampires that I loved a lot.
Looking for Alaska by John Green – This is one of the first books I read about suicide after losing my friend so it really just hit a lot of emotions for me
Carrie by Stephen King – I’m just thankful for King really, I love his books and if I hadn’t started with Carrie I may have never picked up a 1000 page peice of goodness
Tomorrow When the war began by John Marsden – MY LOVE FOR AN AUSSIE STORY. There are a lot of things wrong with this book looking back at it but as a teen I was so excited to see characters set in Australia
I am number four for sparking my interest in Sci Fi and ILLUMINAE for blowing my goddamn mind and in part making sci fi my fave genre
I’m thank full for the whole Young Adult genre, I’m thankful for the diverse books I didn’t read as a teen and for all the teens being able to find themselves on the page because of these amazing authors, keep doing the thing.
SO there is 10 books (well 9 books 1 genre) that I am thankful for, am I american now? Did I do this right? Who’s making me turkey dinner?
Oh my gosh yes! Have you read the entire Heaven series? Becausit got better and better and I cried more and more!!

I haven’t seen any book bloggers talk about that series since I started blogging again earlier this year. I absolutely loved them but everyone I visit is on a YA kick lol 🙂

OR – if not on a YA kick, at least on a review copy / new book kick. Maybe that’s a better way to put it 🙂 I would love to chat about the series sometime ( I have to admit it’s been awhile since I read them so I might have to re-read lol )

I need to reread them too! I can probably recite most lines by heart but I haven’t read them in a good 6 years 0.0

I agree with Hunger Games. I am thankful for it because it was the book that actually made me want to read again. It made me fall in love with the dystonia genre and without it I would have missed so many great books. I love your list it’s wonderful 🙂

Im so glad you love them too! That gang is so much fun, I am a bit of a bum tho coz I still havent read the final book, I kinda want it there so the series hasn’t ended in my mind but I’ll be reading it soon or maybe rereading the whole series and then getting to it. I love the powers how unique all the characters are. I actually really liked the movie too (although it wasnt as good as the books) shame it didnt get more of a following so we could get more movies.
Checking out your review now!

I’ve heard so many mixed reviews about I am Number Four but I really do want to read it, especially when reading all these sci-fi books recently (like Illuminae!).

It’s no where near the level of illumiae but I do still recommend it! I loved it, aliens with superhero like powers being hunted down – super cool
